This iconic, mid-century Eichler in Orange, California was love at first sight for our design team. The home had lost its splendor over the years, and Maverick Design was brought in to help bring it back to life with a full renovation. The property had undergone several modifications since its original construction that took it away from its mid-century roots. Our challenge was to revive the essence of the original home while re-imagining it with our own design sensibilities. Walking through the front door, we were amazed by the architecture of this truly timeless Eichler home. The stunning atrium opens to the sky and leads you to a great room flanked by dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows. We were able to update and enhance this area with paint and landscaping, while leaving it true to its original design. Views extend to the private back yard, an entertainer’s dream. Our landscape design redefined several outdoor living areas including a pool, outdoor dining, large lawn, and custom fire pit. Inside, we designed a fully custom, expanded chef’s kitchen featuring European style cabinets, a large island with waterfall countertops, and hardwood floors. Three of the four bedrooms share a separate wing and a full bathroom with whimsical tile and statement finishes. The expanded master suite features designer lighting, a walk-in closet, and flows into the new spa-like bathroom. The en suite is complete with a double vanity, Nero Marquina stone tile, and an expansive feature shower. Our team selected furniture and décor that would give the home a modern, mid-century vibe while still feeling invitingly livable and current. The end result was a gorgeous updated Eichler, perfect for California living.
